Can Birds Eat Cheese Puffs (Snack)?
Cheese puffs are hazardous to birds. The high salt content can cause immediate kidney stress and neurologic symptoms, while the cheese powder often contains onion and garlic that destroy avian red blood cells. The artificial coloring and preservatives can trigger allergic reactions, and the puffs provide no usable nutrition. Additionally, the powdery residue can stick to feathers and be ingested during preening, compounding exposure. No bird should ever be offered any kind of cheese puff.
