Meat & Protein for Obligate Carnivores

Protein is the cornerstone of a healthy feline diet. Cats require high levels of animal-based protein containing taurine, an essential amino acid they cannot synthesize on their own. Cooked chicken, turkey, beef, and fish like salmon and tuna are excellent protein sources that support heart health, vision, and immune function. However, raw or undercooked meat carries significant bacterial risks, and fish high in mercury (like tuna) should only be fed occasionally. Never feed cats seasoned, fried, or processed meats containing onion or garlic powder. Always remove bones and skin before serving. Verify any protein source above to ensure it meets feline dietary standards.
