Can Dogs Eat Gummy Bears (Sugar-Sweetened)?
Gummy bears made with sugar and gelatin are not toxic in the strict sense, but they are extremely unhealthy for dogs. The high sugar content spikes blood glucose and promotes dental decay, obesity, and potential pancreatitis. The bigger hidden threat is that many modern gummy candies contain xylitol, which is lethal to dogs in tiny amounts. Even without xylitol, the artificial colors and corn syrup offer zero nutritional benefit and can cause gastrointestinal upset. A single accidental gummy bear may be harmless, but they should never be deliberately fed.
