Can Small Pets Eat Cheese Puffs (Snack)?
Cheese puffs are extremely dangerous for all small mammals. The intense salt causes acute dehydration and kidney damage, while onion and garlic powders induce hemolytic anemia. The processed corn base ferments rapidly in herbivores, leading to life-threatening bloat and GI stasis. Even for omnivorous rodents, the artificial flavorings and preservatives can cause liver stress. The orange dust may also mat fur and lead to skin infections. Cheese puffs must never be given to any small pet.
