Can Small Pets Eat Raisins?
Raisins are extremely dangerous for all small mammals. The concentrated grape toxin causes rapid kidney failure, while the high sugar and stickiness lead to gastrointestinal stasis and dental problems. In rabbits and guinea pigs, a single raisin can trigger fatal enterotoxemia and renal shutdown. Hamsters may pouch the sticky fruit, leading to impacted cheek pouches and abscesses. No small pet should ever consume a raisin; the risk of death is too high.
